After hearing this accusation repeated so often today, I made a simple, but interesting observation. Several years ago, I bought a beautiful Christmas Nativity scene. The figures are very lifelike and almost a foot tall. They are also African American. I bought this set because it was the only one left on the shelf. It is a lovely representation of the nativity and I enjoy it very much. I have never once had a guest in my home comment on the color of the skin of the figurines. The only comments have been the beauty of the gift that Jesus Christ brought to earth when He came as a baby to rescue the human race. America is not racist in my world.
